This 2 day Paediatric First Aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face professionals looking after young children and infants. The course is primarily aimed at teachers, playgroup leaders, childcare providers, au pairs, nannies and child-minders.
The Paediatric First Aid course meets the standards required by OFSTED as defined in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and within The Child Care Register guide.
The course covers:
Roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
- Completing and storing official records
- Assessing an emergency situation safely
- Dealing with unconscious infants and children
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- AED
- Choking
- External bleeding
- Shock
- Anaphylaxis & EpiPen
- Injuries to bones, joints and muscles
- Head and Spinal injuries
- Conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose
- Chronic childhood medical conditions and sudden illness
- Extremes heat and cold
- Electric Shock
- Burns
- Poisoning
- Bites and Sting
Price includes:
Professional Instruction and all course materials. Upon successful completion of the course and final assessment, the delegate will receive their certificate which is for valid 1 year.
Maximum delegate to trainer ratio: 12:1
Assessment:
Assessment is undertaken through observation, together with practical exercises and a multiple choice paper.
